A My Generation service

With Hippy Hippy Shake, You're No Good, Good Golly Miss Molly, Don't Make Me Over, Promise You'll Tell Her and It's Too Late Now as their hits, Liverpool's The Swinging Blue Jeans have been described as having stayed the most faithful to their original sound of all the 60's acts still performing. They remain one of the most popular 60's acts today, often including in their set some superb renditions of the songs of one of their earliest influences Gene Vincent, as well as their own 60s hits.
They once had their own show at The Cavern in Liverpool, and often gave new acts a chance to show what they could do by giving them a guest spot. You might have heard of one of them. They were called The Beatles.
Today's Swinging Blue Jeans still feature original member Ray Ennis - lead, rhythm guitar and vocals (centre front) aided and abetted superbly by Phil Thompson - drums, and Alan Lovell - lead guitar, vocals (front left). Since the death of Les Braid in 2005, guest bass players have appeared with the band, including Billy Kinsley of The Merseybeats, Chip Hawkes formerly of The Tremeloes, and latterly Jim Rodford, and Pete Oakman (pictured above)
